nature at its best

hello world, how are you today?
past weeks have been a little hectic, two major tests from two of our tough subjects. respiratory system and renal system and its pharmacotherapeutics, and cardiovascular system and its pharmacotherapeutics. not forgetting the slides for pharmacognosy's presentation. quite tough i must say, reading the BP monograph and having to extract and interpret information from the already given details. it's like digging for something but all you can see is the surface. that may not make sense but it really did take its toll on me. but theres something that i realised.

my first flora shot using a dslr *unedited*

there were studies on plant extracts, either the leaves, the stem bark, the roots, flowers or any parts of the plant. all were having this "anti-something" anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-viral etcetera. so i began thinking, even most medications now, are derived from plants or anything found in nature. the antibiotic penicillin is made from the fungi penicillium for instance. even most weeds or plants that usually grow around us has something of our benefit.

just to show that our Prophet was spot on when he once said:
"There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment."(Al-Bukhari)
so what i thought is that every disease we know today i believe, optimistically, has a cure, but what we really need to do in order to find the cures is, go back to nature, back to what Allah has readily provided. its out there, its just a matter of finding it.

this probably is my first thought of getting into postgraduate studies after i finish my degree. insyaAllah. i really am into research...huhu..
